Many trauma survivors who develop mental health disorders go undiagnosed or incorrectly diagnosed. As a consequence they don’t receive the treatment they need to recover. Our Clinical Research focuses on how best to identify these people, to help assist them getting the best and most appropriate care.

While we have good treatments for individuals who develop trauma-related psychiatric disorders such as posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and Complex PTSD, there is plenty of room for improvement. Generally about a third of patients receiving evidenced based treatments recover fully, a third improve but still have a diagnosis and a third fail to respond to the treatment.
