Recognition and responses to Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) in gambler’s help services

Accumulating evidence shows a strong association between gambling problems and reports of IPV. However it provides limited guidance about how to respond to violence use or exposure when encountered in specialised gambling treatment services. The aim of this study was to improve understanding of the potential role of gambling help providers in identifying and responding to IPV. The project was funded by the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation and involved semi-structured interviews with a gambling help service staff in Australia.
